A Devious Mind is pleased to announce another exciting new release from the people who still fully intend to bring you “Cheney Guevara.”

The official release date is pending as there are outstanding legal and intellectual property issues still to be resolved. These mostly pertain to Ayo El Fuego’s immigration status: The US government refuses to grant entry to “fictional Bolivian rappers” and have stated in the strongest possible terms that we should, “stop pestering us with requests that are patently impossible to grant.” But we struggle on.

Who are we trying to reach today? Perhaps the streets are teeming with doubt-filled carnivores, their meat-eating convictions hanging by only the slightest thread. All they need to change their wicked ways is a nudge. And what better nudge than the beaming face of Joachim Phoenix?

The answer? Almost anything.

PETA have done some compelling, thought provoking and alarming promotions in the past that, at the very least caught the public attention. However, it is hard to imagine that the sight of a glassy-eyed Phoenix and the offer of a Vegetarian Starter Kit will sway the hearts of this nation’s meatavores.

Prove me wrong, and don’t force Joachim to keep that grin on his face for another day.

Looking at this announcements of the Y’s new brand we find ourselves presented with three possible scenarios.

It is a total coincidence that the headline paraphrases Jay-Z
The Y is intentionally including cunning pop-culture references into its marketing materials in order to “engage the kids”.
Someone in the office was given the task of writing the headlines and realized that there was a chance (albeit a slim one) that they could smuggle a bit of Hova into the YMCA newsletter without anyone noticing.

This is a vote for scenario 3, and a quiet round of applause for this unsung hero. Know that at least one person saw your work and celebrates your cunning.
